Doctoral supervision
I have supervised more than twenty-five doctoral students to completion, with alumni now in academic and policy roles including the LSE, Oxford, Sussex, Birmingham, the ONS and universities across China, Italy and Thailand. My current doctoral portfolio spans economic history, green finance, machine learning, regional economics, critical materials and the economics of electric vehicles.

Selected supervision outcomes
Completed doctoral projects include work on Chinese environmental economics, green jobs, flooding and property markets, hydropower and development, climate and agriculture, deforestation, trade missions, firm dynamics and the microeconomics of trade.
